Paid… yeah Bia-tch!

I finally got my government we’re-gonna-give-you-back-some-of-the-money-that’s-really-yours stimulus check.   I don’t know about you, but I did not go out and blow mine on things I don’t need just to feed the economic spending machine and “stimulate” the economy.  With gas prices over $4.00 a gallon, I couldn’t afford to waste this money.  Instead, my check went to stuff that was NEEDED not wanted… well, kind of.   We paid off our VERY expensive big screen.  And I don’t mean “very expensive” in a good way!  For the price we paid including financing and all; we could’ve bought two hell, maybe three big screens.  That sucks.  But we no longer have a high ass TV payment to make monthly - which in turn will help us subsidize the DOUBLED daycare cost.  Can’t complain too much though, they have 2 field trips a week, a theme like “saving the ozone layer”  and activities to match, not to mention water day twice a week.   So with the kids completely entertained – who’s gonna complain?   What was left over from the check went to fixing Little Man’s two teeth.  Apparently he’s had too much candy which left him with two large holes, one on each side.   Of course I’m thinking just pull them suckas but instead he’ll be getting bling – two new crowns.  Regardless – I’m doing the happy dance now that we no longer owe that payment!  Thanks Prez Bush – now if you could only get our boys home.

Little help here…

Now that I made the move… wordpress is a’ight.  I might like it more if I could get my stuff working.

Why won’t my blogroll show up?  How the hell do I respond to a comment?  (and have them notified?)  Is there a way to show the dashboard in something less than supersize font?   Is there a way to modify the template?

I’m thinking Belle is right – I’m only gonna be on wordpress.com for a hot minute!

Comfort, the plan and window shopping

So let me update you: I’ve been spending a lot more time hanging out with the in-laws, especially the bil’s. I have come to get to know them well and I think they now feel comfortable around me. Which is a good thing. Aside from that – things are going downhill like an avalanche at work. The NEW “plan” is dissolving 2 positions by the end of summer. Basically moving to a full call center! – where the tech answers the phone and fixes the issue right then and there. That SO sucks. Were not just talking – my Word won’t do such and such… we are talking ANY issue. WTH! I am trying to move ahead, not go back to basic “geeksquad” support! In the meantime, I have been “window shopping” jobs and have had very little luck with the economy so tight right now, very few people are job hunting and the # of positions are few and far between. Between Gas prices and Summer Daycare… well, let’s not talk about it.

Big Decision

I think I’ve decided to move to WordPress. If you’ve got it – how do you like it? Any suggestions? It seems to be more flexible then Blogger.

For now – I’m here…

Au Natural… Kind of.

Apparently, the newest trend among celebrities is exposed nipples.

Well, at least the illusion of going natural. Boy, can’t you just wait for this one to hit the general population???! I’m sure there will be many misinterpretations of the “illusion” part.

And here I am trying to keep my girls under wraps…

She’s a Brick House!!!

In about 2 wks, The Man and I plan to go to a birthday party for his boss. It’s going to be at a Cigar Bar/Lounge… a “real” grown up place. Of course, I have nothing to wear. What does one wear to this type of place? I decided to online window shop and fell in love.

This dress is killer:

The description reads: She’s a brickkkkkkkkkkkk-HOUSE!!! The “Nelli” signature dress showcases what having your curves is all about, pure sex appeal.

I’m all over that! But why?…Why?… WHY???!!! Does it cost $268! We’re talking Rayon Lycra Jersey here people! Seems like everything I like costs my left kidney and my next born.

10 Weird Facts

1. I love Action and SciFi flicks! Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Kill Bill, AVP, Rush Hour, Blade, Underworld, Die Hard, Spiderman…

2. I’m a goth at heart.

3. I’m an insomniac – but it works, most of the time… that’s how I stay up and study until the dead hours of the night.

4. I have to have a full set of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses – It bothers me to have mix and matched sets. I have to resist the urge to throw/give them away and buy new ones when one gets chipped or broken just so I can have an entire set. And I absolutely hate plastic cups – regardless if they match. I have only 2 plastic cups – one Barbie, one Spidey… both for the kids.

5. I work in a male dominated industry. I am the only chick in my department that is a Tech. I have to hold my own to be respected in my profession. As such, I act like a guy – I tend to be blunt, short and to the point. I’m not sure why people don’t get it ???

6. I worry. A Lot. About everything. Probably another reason I can’t sleep…and I’m a paranoid mom.

7. I like to watch people. Not in the weirdo stalker way; but I wonder what they’re going to do, how they’re going to react and why.

8. I can fix computers, write resumes, sew from a pattern, cut a fade and assemble furniture from the directions!

9. I’m good at Accounting, Statistics and Geometry. I suck at Algebra and basic math. I can’t add double digits in my head to save my life. But give me any topic and I can crank out a 5+ page paper, citations and bibliography included!

10. I should’ve been a lawyer. If I win the lotto – I’m going to law school!

Random Thought

Stopped by the dollar store to buy some Halloween items. I got Boo’d at work and need to return the favor. If you’ve never gotten Boo’d you may want to start it in your office or on your block.
Here are a couple of links to help ya out:
At the check out I noticed the cashier scanning items – It never occurred to me before… Why do dollar stores scan items? I mean everything is a dollar…??? Go figure.

Instant manager…

Don’t ask about work… they are working us to death. My hands have been hurting from all the typing and now they no longer want us to justify our help desk workload by saying call volume, now they want call quality – geez, make up your minds!

Anyhow – in the midst of turmoil aka “restructuring” according to management, some smart person has decided to throw 2 interns into the mix to work 1/2 days helping out. Supposedly they had been trained in a summer program on computers, etc. Sure, they have basic knowledge. Unfortunely, they can’t help very much.

We were not prepared to have 2 people who needed training start, especially during a very busy period. So the first month or so they just kinda hung out. Then I noticed they were not very busy. I decided to come to my manager and suggest they have a set of tasks to do… next thing I know, I’m an instant manager! Now I am the point person for them – they report to me and I manage their tasks.

That’s the last time I suggest anything… ha-ha!
