It’s been a long time… but here I am

So I’ve been gone for a while… but I’m back.  In the last year, I was hit by the recession.  I lost my crappy job to a layoff. (April 09)  Funny thing is I wasn’t mad, I was relieved.  I stayed home with the kids over the summer which was nice.  It took me 8 months to find another job.  The week my unemployment benefits check ran out, I interviewed and landed the job!  I’m very happy to be at my new place… i enjoy my job very much.  It’s so nice to feel appreciated.  In between – I’ve also built a custom website for brother in law.  Pretty soon i’ll be working on myown design.  We’ll see how that goes…

Well I’m happy to be back…

That is so awesome! The fact that you got to stay home with the kids, and be relieved instead of stressed…the timing, and the design. I wanna see! I still haven’t cut my teeth on my own WP theme yet. SO much code. I could knock out a blogger design in a day once I had my graphics ready, but WP is … well, you know, if your BIL’s site was at WP.

Still want to try to do some designing with me? My code isn’t likely up to par, but I am working on it, in my VERY limited spare time. I can still do some (what to me are) pretty nifty graphics, though.

Let me know! We can learn together.

I did love blogger – it was so user friendly. WordPress… i’m not sure i like it much more. And yes – there is waaaay too much code. As for the brother in law’s website – it was actually for him and my hub. A custom website at their own .com – away from wordpress. Yes, I’d still like to try some designing with you! You know how to do the blogger designs and I do like your style too…. I’ve gotten pretty good with photoshop and I know how to get the end result loaded to the host for custom sites… I’m thinking more along the lines of income… when you have time take a look at http://moxiedesignstudios.com/ tell me what you think. Let’s talk about it some more.

The Moxie Girls site is wonderful! Of course, I can’t really do much with design until I replace my laptop, but that will *probably* be at least Christmas. I can do a blogger theme, no problem, but it’s a LOT of work to do a custom WP theme. I’m thinking for WP, maybe just custom graphics – which I can do – and maybe a bit of custom coding for widgets, etc, would sell for folks to dress up their plain/free/whatever WP theme. That’s what I do right now!
